Learning Spanish 101: First lesson down…

Vamos Let's Learn Spanish

So this week, I have finally started my spanish lessons… By joining an 5-week intensive class here in London.

To say the course is immersive, is to put it lightly.  Everything is spoken in Spanish and you have to attempt to work through it.  I assume the thought process is to force you to learn and absorb as much as possible.

I have to admit, at times the first lesson was quiet difficult at times.  Starting to learn something from scratch, is always a challenge.  And another language isn’t any different.  Sometimes, it feels so uncomfortable being out of depth.  But I kept reminding myself that it will come eventually.

Here is a chart from the first lesson, dropped straight into verbs and pronouns!

Immersive is intense.  So we will see how it pans out over the next few weeks.  I am trying outside of class to also listen to spanish / latin music while doing things (like writing this post).

Also committing to use apps like Babbel/Duolingo for at least 30mins a day.

I even read a guide on tips to immerse yourself in learning spanish, by putting up labels of item names around the house, which I might try too.

Now to study 🙂  Here are some of the videos I have used to study this week… Obviously basic, but this is starting from the beginning!

Pronouns

Counting to 20

Alphabet

Found this video, and even though he is so young, the lesson is relatively helpful!
